This national forest extends from portions of central Wyoming down into northern Colorado. In Wyoming it is composed of a small range south of Douglas and west of Wheatland. Further south, the forest continues west of Laramie and between I-80 and the Colorado state line.

Winter sports are extremely popular here. Hunting, fishing, camping, hiking and skiing comprise many of the activities in the area.
